Below are the Rules & Regulations of Gauteng Dance Studio's. All students and their parents agree to abide by these rules when registering on our website.
GAUTENG DANCE STUDIOS Terms & Conditions and General Rules
Terms and conditions
1. A non-refundable enrolment fee of R150.00 is payable for each dancer/student enrolled. Enrolment fees are payable on the day of enrolment and strictly prior to a student’s first class. 2. The person responsible for payment of the student’s account have to complete the registration on our website and acquaint him/herself with Terms & Conditions and General rules prior to sending the student for his/her first class. Pre School classes are 30 - 45 minutes and some acrobatic classes are 45 minutes.
4. Dance fees are calculated on a term-basis and are payable in advance on or before the 5th of the first month of the term. “Term” refers to the government school terms as determined by the Department of Education. Under no circumstances will any fees be refundable and no credit will be given to students who are absent from class.
In the event where the class fees are not paid before or on the 5th of the first month of the term, an e-mail will be sent as a reminder to pay the invoiced bill on a postponed date, when the person responsible for paying the bill, haven’t settled the account on the given date, the student will no longer be allowed to attend class and the account holder will be held responsible for the outstanding fees. Prices are subject to change as per the industry standard adjustments.
5. Class fees will be priced as follows: 1 Item: R650.00 per term 2 Items: R900.00 per term 3 Items: R1 100.00 per term 4 Items: R1 300.00 per term 5 Items: R1 500.00 per term 6 Items : R1 600.00 per term
Junior and Senior Hip-Hop, Jazz, Tap or Show dance competition classes (practice sessions) will be charged at an extra cost of R30.00 per class per child. Private lessons fees (Read General Rules no. 7)
6. 7. Fees do not include exam and competition registration-and-entry fees or Choreography of any solo/duet/trio, dance routines.
8. Gauteng Dance Studios do not accept responsibility, direct or indirect, and will not be held liable for, any accident or death, injuries, illness, damage and/or losses suffered by you and/or the student during dance lessons, rehearsals, performances, functions, outings and tours and you hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Gauteng Dance Studios and it’s employees in the event of any such occurrences.
9. Gauteng Dance Studios will not be responsible for students outside of class times.
10. All students, teachers and parents will adhere to the studio “ General Rules” for their own safety and out of respect for others and the premises used.
11. Any complaints must be directed to Gauteng Dance Studios in writing within 7 days of an incident, in which event Gauteng Dance Studios will respond to any such complaint within 14 days from date of receipt thereof. Only in the event of a complaint remaining unresolved will a formal meeting be arranged between the appropriate parties.
12. Any contact with Gauteng Dance Studios principal should be done between 9am and 11am, Tuesdays to Fridays.
13. The office at Gauteng Dance Studios may be contacted in regards with accounts or general acquirements.
14. All trophies received at the annual prize giving, are floating trophies. Names should be engraved on the trophy by a reputable engraver. The trophies must be returned when requested in a GOOD order. You will be required to replace a trophy should it be returned in a damaged condition.
General Rules: 1. Gauteng Dance Studios will hold within its sole discretion the final say as to the suitability of a student to be entered for examinations, competitions and/or shows/concerts and may, at its sole and exclusive discretion, withdraw or hold back from any such specified events, any student which in the opinion of Gauteng Dance Studios, appears to be inadequately prepared due to poor attendance and/or performance. 2. Dancing is a disciplined art form and requires a serious approach. Being punctual is deemed being part of this discipline. Therefore, should a student arrive more that 10 minutes late for any scheduled class, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the class for the remaining duration thereof. 3. All school bags/ tog bags/ shoes/ clothes are to be left outside the studio. 4. No eating or soft drinks to be consumed during class times, please ensure that you child has water or fruit juice available during class. 5. No interruptions during any class. All administration matters can be discussed with the administrative lady in the office at the Rooihuiskraal premises. 6. All cell phones to be switched OFF during class! 7. Choreography of solo/duet/trio routines will cost R250 per dance/arrangement and will include the following 1 x private lesson 1 x CD with the unique piece of music Under no circumstances, may the choreography of the routine be changed by either the dancer, parent or guardian. If this matter occurs, the student will no longer be allowed to enter under the studios name. 8. In the case where a student has been absent from class 4 times or more per term, he/she will no longer be allowed to take part in the festival or exam.
Students must please vacate the studio as soon as classes end, to accommodate the next class. No student may remain on the premises for longer than 15 minutes after a class has ended. Parents must please arrange with the relevant pre school, after-care or lift clubs to collect them.
9. Exam CD will be available at R50 per dance style. 10. No parent or guardian will be allowed to take a video of the exams until otherwise stated by the principal of the studio. In the event where a student was absent from class and therefore unsure about the work, a private lesson can be booked at R250 per hour
11. All students are required to participate in exams and festivals. No exam will be skipped, unless sufficient proof is given that such an exam has been completed in the past. Entry fees in respect of above, is payable and will be indicated on the website and in newsletters sent out. No late payments will be accepted and fees are payable directly to the appropriate federation.
12. I would like to invite you as parent/guardian to come and observe your child’s progress by sitting in on the end of the month’s class. No brothers, sisters, friends or grandparents are allowed. NO spectators ARE ALLOWED TO SIT IN AT ANY OF THE CLASSES other than mentioned above. Please abide by this rule for it is only to the benefit of your own child !
Uniform Regulations: Hair and fringes has to be tied back neatly.
Modern Dancing: A Black lycra 3/4 pants and black lycra JT top. Barefoot. (Clothing to be purchase either from Thea Kritzinger (012) 654 7426 of from Dance Worx in the Doornkloof Mall or from Elderin Buchan 079 376 1166.
Acrobatics: Studio unitard. Barefoot (To be purchase from Thea Kritzinger at (012) 654 7426 or Elderin Buchan 079 376 1166)
Hip – Hop: Black baggy pants with tight black top or a Gauteng Dance Studios T-shirt. Black & White trainers - purchase from Pep Stores
Lyrical: Black lycra 3/4 pants and blacklycra JT top. Barefoot
Disco: Black lycra 3/4 pants and a black lycra JT top. Barefoot
Tap: Black lycra 3/4 pants and a black lycra JT top. Black Single tap tap shoes (Can be purchase either from Dance Worx or The Ballet Barre in Groenkloof) Should a student turn-up without the appropriate clothing and neatly tied hair, they will not be allowed to attend class. During festivals students must wear the stipulated costumes, hair accessories, etc. All group costumes are the property of Gauteng Dance Studios and are only to be rented by parents for the soul purpose of dancing on the stage. Private Property The owner reserves Right of admission. Damage to property by students, friends or family e.g. breaking windows, mirrors, plants etc, will be the responsibility of these parents to replace and repair. The studio's are situated in residential area's and noise levels outside the studio buildings should be kept to a minimum. |
